For $150, you might expect a hefty, library-bound reference book, not a large-format trade paperback. That said, this is one of the most fascinating and addictive books I've ever read. "The Encyclopedia of TV Pilots" documents TV's secret history, the thousands of wanna-be series that have been created in hopes of landing a spot on a network schedule. Some of these are well-known, others played just once, and a large majority simply vanished into the ether, forgotten and ignored until now. Vincent Terrace has rescued these efforts from the
