She's written one of my most treasured devotional books, and I keep it nearby whenever I'm starting to take life too seriously. Her personality absolutely sparkles through the pages of her book, drawing readers into a more intimate walk with God. Sue came and spoke to our women's group at church, and within minutes, she had a whole room full of ladies howling in laughter. She proudly displayed her rhinestone-covered Bible and admitted that she was "deep for a shallow person." But Sue's faith is grounded in an intimate understanding of the God who heals. A breast cancer survivor, Sue is no stranger to the agony of a doctor's grim prognosis, or the loss of identity a woman feels when she suffers through surgery and chemotheraphy. Sue has a deep empathy for all women undergoing cancer treatment. A great alternative to boring devotional material By Charles Mims Sue Buchanan writes in a folksy way. Many reviewers would see that as a detraction, but in the case of this book it truly is not. The humor, insight, and spiritual awareness that Mrs. Buchanan unveils in this book would be palatable to both the churched and unchurched alike. Her open and engaging style is not threatening, or overly "churchy". It's simply common everyday conversation.
