There are a lot of pictures in it (of actrices, filmposters and scenes of movies). There is a table of contents, this is not an active table. The information it gives on movies includes: the actors (including actors playing supportive parts), the directors, screenplay, technicolor photographer, camera, costumes, music, make-up, producer, copyright (who had it, year), date of release, length, costs, and much more. It also gives a synopsis of the story, and some notes (some extra information, like problems with action scenes during filming). There are also reviews included. Not all of the movies in this volume are famous movies, but I believe this book will be interesting for anyone who is a big filmfan. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Probably the most misleading titled book on Amazon ..... By marty888nyc About a third of the titles discussed in this collection of reviews/essays are worthy of the "must see" designation, being recognized by critics and audiences alike for their quality. Another third of the
titles are so obscure that even a well-informed film fan would not recognize many of them. But the kicker in this "must see" collection are the remaining titles, variously described as: 1) "witless and without any redeeming features" 2) "elephantine bore" 3) "this is an absolutely dreadful movie" 4) "....this dreary little movie" So why are they included, these "must see" movies? Strange, indeed. On the plus side: there are incredibly complete lists of people involved in the making of the movies, running times, premiere dates, etc. - lots of trivia facts for the avid fan. And one last observation: why, instead of refering to "Academy Award" or "Oscar" does Mr. Reid refer only to "the prestigeous Hollywood award"? 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Should have been more concise By Nicole Hernandez The amount of excessive detail provided, and the format it is presented in, strikes me more like a cut-and-paste from IMDB than anything else. Lists and lists of every actor (seemingly) in the film and who they played, lists of all the people involved in making the film from the director to the camera operator... and if there was a musical score to go with it then that is listed out to along with the people behind the music... it's just way too many lists and too much information not in a readable format. I was hoping it would be more like this: Title of film Main actors, director & producer, year Why it is a must-see It is, unfortunately, too much information to be useful.
