Thorough and Thought Provoking By Ronald K. Herman I have read Bible commentaries from several different series and this is the best. The book blends passages from other Gospels and nonbiblical historical facts to put the Gospel of Matthew in perspective. It is as much history as interpretation and explanation. Many commentaries are too academic, making it difficult for the lay reader. I found this book easy to follow, and even entertaining with the use of constant aliterations. It provided a good foundation for understanding both this and the other Gospels. I will buy other books in this series. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Must Read By Franklin L.
