Review Historically enlightening...well written and documented...thoroughly enjoyable for lovers of truth in history. The misrepresentation inn regard to James' character is in reality a subtle attack on the historical part that he played in bringing us the Word of God in the English language. I thank God for the life of King James, and I thank God for Stephen A. Coston SR.'s defense of King James' character, and I thank God for the King James Bible. -- Reverend Dale E. Vick, Pastor of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg Beach Florida The author has undertaken the somewhat daunting task of taking up the cudgels on behalf of this little understood monarch, on whose behalf Virginia was established, but whom the English and many Americans have largely written off, except perhaps for his assumed sexual aberrations which titillate an ill-informed modern generation. Of course, James Stuart's speech was almost foreign and his manners likewise in England and as one commentator at least has admitted his crude bohemic and his displays of Scots sentimentality could easily be misconstrued by those who wished to do so. The author has striven hard to put things in perspective and we hope he succeeds. The 400th anniversary of the creation of the United Kingdom (Great Britain as King James liked to call it), falls in a few years, so a new biography of the man in whose person this was achieved may be no bad thing. -- Mr. Hubert Fenwick, Royal Martyr Annual 1997 From the Publisher King James the VI of Scotland & the I Of England Unjustly Accused? By Warren Owens This was a great book that opens your eyes that the criticism that King James endured came after his death when he couldn't refute it. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to know things that popular culture doesn't readily admit. 12 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Excellent history of James as king, father, and man By [email protected] While King James has often been accused by both secular and Christian history as a man of ill repute, little has been offered in his defense. However, Unjustly Accused? certainly has defended the honor of this king, central to both politics and religion, in a more than adequate manner. While admitting his flaws, the book also emphasizes his accomplishments as a king, as a father, and as a man. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Finally, the Truth About King James By Barry This book, only states what Christians and honest historians knew along- that imperfect(like ALL of us) King James was NOT a hypocrite, but acted like a true Christian! Maclennan does and excellent job of giving well documented accounts and especially quotes from good old Jimmie. I was especially impressed with his "preaching", particularly about how not only should you never cheat on your wife nor how just women should not be loose and save themselves for marriage but MEN must abstain until marriage too in order to follow God and the Bible and have self respect and

not be dirty and dishonorable. No double standard for men- not even himself!! Fornication is out!! Very impressive (or admirable). Anyone who believes that premarital sex is of the devil is ok with me. And when the author quotes the king from his "Counterblast to Tobacco"- what a hoot and a howl! They where priceless! He really was ahead of his time. It sounded like a modern day antismoking tirade. Most excellent-Satanic cancer sticks! Good times good times. See all 4 customer reviews...
