Buy one for yourself, buy one and give it as a gift. This story needs to be shared with the masses. A fantastic read that encapsulates a very heartfelt love story of how "girl meets boy", in a way that happens only once in a lifetime, giving way to the hope that crazy dreams coming true is indeed possible. By Kristin Crawford Great story that kept my attention throughout. I didn't want to put it down but my 8 year old, 10 year old and my husband were demanding meals and stuff. :) Carly is a great character that could be a friend of mine. Her relationships and experiences are relatable and interesting to share. Trey is a great guy who any woman would be thrilled to date, the perfect guy to help Carly. Josh was a fantastic first love interest. Can't wait for the second book and share more of their lives. You won't want to miss out on this series By T London Do you remember those days (if you were raised in the 80’s) where you would sit in front of the TV watching MTV just praying for the singer who stole your heart would come on the screen and sing just to you? That one person in a band that made your heart go wild? Lying in bed at night, dreaming of what it would be like to be the Mrs. to that sexy singer? Well Mel Henry gave us the reality to that dream in this book. Carly Cooper came face to face with the man of her dreams when she saw Josh McCarthy singing on stage. She was 18 and the sparks flew quickly between them the moment their eyes met. Going forward with her dream she began to believe that they would have a happily ever after, but she failed to realize she will be sharing this man with the thousands of other girls who believe they have the same chemistry as she does, they just need that chance with Josh. His band is gone a lot on tours, he lives in East, she is a Midwest girl, distance and time is going to be an issue for them but what he feels is real for her. Two young people, living in a world with demanding commitments, they don’t have an easy road. Eventually they drift apart, the calls stop, the visits stop and soon the memories of those few months are all they have. Fast forward a few years and they meet again. This time they have more maturity, success and careers set to base a relationship on. Instead of time and distance being the obstacle, they now have dedication to their career dreams. Love for their jobs, love for each other will only keep them together OR drive them apart. A major event happens to Carly that will leave her a different person but during that event Trey comes into the picture. Will she give up her dream with Josh for reality with Trey? How do you fall out of love with the one who invaded your dreams since you were a teenager? I loved this story, it just put me back to the 80’s when I used to dream about marrying Jon Bon Jovi and planning a fantasy life with fame, fortune and exotic places that we would travel. She gave me a greater appreciation for the women who love those men. I also found that the emotional intensity in which she created made me suffer along with Carly and Josh during the downs in the relationship and cheer in the bright times between them. You can tell they were meant for each other but life didn’t give them the hand they expected and they weren’t able to figure it out the first
time. The story is written smoothly and once you start, it is hard to put down, not because there is a lot of intense suspense but because the reader can relate to the characters, they can empathize with the scenes and she does a fabulous job at telling the story that will touch the readers heart.
