By Kristen @ Pretty Little Pages Straight from the Heart is an amazing story with tons of heart from Breigh Forstner. I'll admit at the beginning I was doubtful. It seemed a bit slow, but wow. Once I sat down with this book, I was drawn in and really enjoyed the story that Breigh shares in Straight from the Heart. The dynamic between the characters was my favorite part and I loved seeing how the bandmates and Bryn grew and developed. I feel like there's so much more to their stories, especially Bryn. In the beginning, I was doubtful of her. But by the time I finished this one, she had grown on me and I was really rooting for her. Speaking of finishing this book, I have one complaint. It isn't with the author or story. It's the
cliffhanger! It was brutal. I need to know more! I'm really excited about following the rest of Bryn's story and reading more from Breigh Forstner. Already her writing shows so much promise. Bryn Schaefler does not want the life her parents have or want for her. She loves music and is a very talented guitarist who leaves home to find her way. Bryn auditions for the up and coming band Everlasting, never thinking she will make it, but she does. She then heads out on tour with them. The bandmates are great to her, but it's the connection she has with the lead singer Cale that is so beautiful. This is a story about trusting your heart and following it in all the directions it takes you. I loved watching young Bryn Shaefler learn who she was throughout this book. Author Breigh Forstner takes us on a journey of self-discovery filled with heartache, love, and humor. Bryn loves music and everything about it. And the moment she is freed from her controlling parents she takes off to do just that. She auditions for the rock band Everlasting. Getting the gig was the easy part. Now she had to travel with a bus full of guys for the summer. I mention she was fed with a silver spoon didn’t I. She has no clue what she is getting into. Seeing the naïve girl learn that she had no clue what really went on while touring had me laughing and shaking my head. She was stubborn and full of life. She and Cale Pelton the lead singer of Everlasting had strong feelings for one another but she fought them tooth and nail. She did not want to ruin their friendship or her chance at freedom. Cale Pelton is Hot, arrogant, and a little bit possessive. He wants Bryn in every way. He knows it’s wrong that he pushes her but he cannot help it. And when she pushes him away for another lead singer, he gets pissy. Which I found hot and funny all at the same time! He pushed her buttons right back though. They both had a past they needed to work on. Enter Pauly Donovan who is described as a Jax Teller look alike. Hubba Hubba. I was drooling! He was the ultimate bad boy that women loved. Everyone warned Bryn not to get involved with Pauly. She couldn’t help it. I enjoyed this love triangle. The struggle Bryn underwent to realize which man was the right man
for her fun to read. I won’t give away what goes down. You need to read it for yourself. I cannot leave out the rest of the bandmates. Raptor, Vince, and Luke kept me laughing. They pushed Cale and Bryn. They are the best annoying big brothers a girl could ask for. They are all fiercely protective of their little sis.
