Brilliant resources of inpiration for new writers on just how to start writing, & for writers to get out of writers block! By J. C. Manthorpe This is one great resource for new writers. As a new writer, just reading through the book triggered off so many good ideas to get started, plus give you motivation that you can write. The book is split into section of ideas to write, they are: Creative Growth Inspiration Career Education Building a network Life experience From any of those sections, you are bound to find one inspiration that will set you off to write for sure. One from the bucket list that really got my attention and ignited many ideas was in the section of "inspiration" was travel. My passion is to be a travel writer and since I have traveled and kept journals, this was it, this is where I will start writing short stories of my experiences. Thanks Dana for the inspiration!

If you are wanting to start writing, already writing or an established writer with writers block and need some boost to get going again or even liven up your life, read the book. Its not just a book about giving you ideas of how to start or get writing again, but also a book of wonderful ideas on how to get out there and find something you love to do and write at the same time, finding an avenue that suites you. recommend the book - go and get it :) 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. THE book for anyone who wants to be a writer (or needs to be reminded why they create!) By J. Lamb I learned of this book through Dana's inspiring and informative website, DIY Writing ([...]). She has a refreshing take on writing, the creative process and the business-y side of things. I knew her book would do the same but it far exceeded my expectations! Packed with meaningful, fun, do-able tips, this guide will kick start your writing career and help you discover creative possibilities - in writing and your life. I've been writing for four years and I refer to this book when I get into that common writer funk. It's inspiring and challenging. I dig the exercises. I had a quarterlife crisis at 26 and bought dozens of how-to-be-a-writer books. They were completely overwhelming and uninspiring. Now that I'm a published author, this is THE guide I recommend to people exploring the idea of being a writer or creator of any kind. And for the seasoned writers, this guide will foster new confidence to expand your creative wings and remind you why you love writing. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic Book! I Ended the Book Feeing Inspired! By K. Russell What I like about this book is that she's young and she did this on her own. It's not meant for someone whose been writing awhile (though I did enjoy reading her 99 Things to Do as a Writer from type on a typewriter to write a thank you note to your teachers), but these are small ideas (a couple paragraphs for each idea) for someone who wants to be writer, but isn't sure where to begin. She is there for writers who have decided they'd like to try writing and aren't sure where to begin. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot more from her. Here's what Dana wrote about The Writer's Bucket List: In May 2011, I left my job and home in Madison, Wisconsin to move to San Francisco to be a fulltime writer. I didn't know what that meant, and I had no idea how to make it happen. Nonetheless, I started to collect clients, publish stories, and make my living writing and doing what I love. I've been trying to come up with the right response to the readers, friends and colleagues who say to me, "I'd like to do what you're doing, but..." I needed a way to say, "So do it already!" Loudly. So I wrote a book. `A Writer's Bucket List' is a launching point for all of the possibilities of being a writer. Instead of another how-to on any kind of writing, this book is a "Why not?" for the writer's life. The list is a combination of the unique steps that have formed my career and bolstered my creativity, and the things I haven't yet had a chance to try. The book offers some conventional and

some unconventional steps on the path through a writer's life, why they matter, and advice for getting started. ________________________________ By the way, here's her bioDana Sitar is a freelance journalist and indie author.
