By Amazon Customer After flying for 16 years, mostly in helicopters and some in larger twin turboprops, I needed to get my fixed-Multi-engine ATP. The material provided by the flight school, like most products available, is focused on covering the knowledge required to pass an oral or help prepare for a written exam. There is surprisingly little available to actually learn about the systems and aerodynamics in a detailed and meaningful way. This book sets itself apart by providing well thought-out and useful information. It is probably the most substantive book on the subject I've come across and is my goto reference for light piston multi-engine information. As an example, I wanted to learn more about how the propeller governor functions. Before getting this book, I looked in the FAA AMT Handbooks, some internet searches, POH Systems Descriptions, and the material passed out by my flight school. The Pilot's Manual concisely explained the system, the interaction of the parts, and the operational checks involved using high quality imagery and plain language. Every chapter is follows the same pattern and maintains the same high quality. If you have any desire to fly multi-engine airplanes, you owe it to yourself to get this book. Another good text from ASA in this series By AmazonBuyerNorCal This is a decent textbook, it covers the basics without a lot of extra stuff. The Jeppesen book is also good but I think the ASA book is simpler and more to the point.
