It's glorious sci fi patterned stylistically after typical books of the genre, but with a depth that is not easily comparable in anything else I've read. Wetzel may not have intended on delivering such a moving message about life, government, and religion, but by nature he's a wise messenger and that couldn't help but come across in his writing. As I mention in so many of my posts, I am a sucker for dystopian societies, and this one is right up there with the infamous Big Brother from 1984 and Libria from the amazing film Equilibrium. What makes Wetzel's work so engrossing is what a visual masterpiece he has created. He is first and foremost an artist, then a graphic designer and author. His writing is enhanced by the images his fingers itch to draw out on paper...he has the ability to do all his own cover and concept art. I can't wait to see more from this character - and her creator

The story itself is an amalgamation and outpouring of all of my childhood influences, ranging from The Bible to the works of Robert A. Heinlein, from The Terminator to Robotech, from Dark Angel to X-Men and Ghost in the Shell. As for themes and such amid "blistering hi-tech action" in a dystopian future nation, I suppose I'm asking the compound question, "What do we have, and what are we trading it for?" In Wetzel's futuristic world, terrorism and fear have led to the logical outcome of a totalitarian regime that tolerates no belief except belief in a government that will benevolently protect the interests of its citizens. Anyone who questions the government, who does not conform or holds onto antiquated beliefs becomes an enemy of the state and must therefore be removed. Teres, the main character, begins our story as a Maxyra elite terrorist fighter, an insider; but she has secrets to hide and a slip of the tongue alienates her. She is forced out of the only life she has ever known and is left with no choice but to join an intriguing group of outsiders who all possess extraordinary competence, even in the tensest moments. In their midst, she struggles with the idea

that there exists a higher power than the Talonian government. This novel's spot-on dialogue, complex characters, and driving plot lines will keep you turning the page from the first Talonian raid to the last explosion. By Jenny I wasn't sure what to expect of this book off the bat. The heavy military jargon in the first chapter threw me a bit...but take it from me, READ THE BOOK, don't try to guess what every acronym is. Once I left off with fretting about wanting to know exactly what every letter meant and just started reading the story I really, really enjoyed it. Teres has a thought-provoking but not heavy-handed message and the reader is left to draw their own conclusions rather than the author forcing a veiw on them. By Shelley Rice Was not sure what was going to come of this, as a first time author but its better than a good book. Its getting a glimpse into the mind of Gershom Wetzel, and seeing the future at the same time. I can see this a move even, it was so well written and I am very pleased with the story line. If your a fan of syfy movies or books than this is for you. Get a copy, and wait for it to come back around as a movie. Then you can say, I got that book before it was a movie.
