About the Author Sara Anne Lehmann, nee Moskovits, was born in Satu Mare, Transylvania, in 1925. Next to last of six lively children, and the younger of two girls, Anne lived a rough and tumble joyful youth. She was known to her friends and family as "Pupa," ( doll in Hungarian) and eventually to her grandchildren as "Boma" (who knows why?) Unfortunately, while Anne was a teenager, the horrors of Hiltler's ferocious Nazi ideology were unleashed. Although most of her aunts, uncles and cousins were murdered by the Nazis, her immediate family escaped in 1941 - via train, plane, and boat all the way through Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, the Soviet Union, Japan and finally across the continental United States. Anne's happy spirits were never diminished; indeed her experiences of survival and non conformity enhanced her triumphant stories, poems, riddles and ditties for her nieces and nephews - and eventually her own children and grandchildren. Her indomitable spirit and enthusiastic curiosity shines through the stories and ditties... When the Moskovits family first came to New York, in 1941, Anne baby sat for her baby nephew and niece while her elder sister and parents supported the family by creating a textile factory. Eventually after the war's end, this factory was the provider of considerable income and solace to hundreds of refugees and survivors of Hitler's murderous war machine. While baby sitting, Anne needed ways to entertain the children, and so her writing career was born! Ever since then, throughout her life, Anne has written stories and poems, both for adults and children.

YOU ARE ONLY A GIRL features an indomitable woman and her friend in the combat zones of the global telecommunications and philately industries where no women ever tread before - and her phenomenal business success in 3rd world nations where murder and mayhem were common place. She broke glass ceilings where there wasn't even a floor. Her work reads like fiction, but the story is true. Anne, the author, captures historic and personal landscapes with fast-paced dialogue, electric humor and chilling episodes that are impossible to forget - including her family's escape from the Holocaust, and the attempt by a corrupt high ranking Nigerian military man and his Hungarian and Nigerian bagmen to murder her husband. YOU ARE ONLY A GIRL is a tour de force about guts, unbreakable friendship of two women trailblazers in international business, balancing business with parenting, and a period of history that has been virtually erased from our global memory. ● ● ● ●
