Informative and accessible By extended_vowel Bagele Chilisia's book on Indigenous research methodologies is both informative, in a practical sense of doing research, and accessible. Written in an easily understood manner and containing useful summaries, tables and activities, this book is essential reading for anybody considering the implications of conducting research with Indigenous peoples. Indigenous Research Methodologies inspires the reader to not just consider new ways of conducting research, but also the importance of critiquing the dominant hegemonies in previous research. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This book is filled with great information. However By Brittany This book is filled with great information. However, it can be a bit of a hard read. One of the most frustrating things about this book is never knowing what chapter you are in when you first open the book. Chapter headings across the top of each page would have made for an easier and less time consuming read. The author can also be a bit wordy at times and hard to follow. Reading research methodologies from a different perspective was definitely a breath of fresh air though. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Research Methods By Jenn I used this text to supplement my reading in my graduate research methods course. It certainly offers a more critical way of doing research and working with diverse groups. I still refer to this book often when I'm looking for wholistic methods while working on my own research projects. See all 5 customer reviews...
