I fell in love with a Yogini statue at the Nelson Atkins museum in Kansas City. There are a few of them in the US. But they dont have much information about them. After alot of searching for information about them I found this book. This book is so well written and researched. Many books, even translations, about Eastern beliefs are skewed by western prejudices. They translate eastern non dualistic beliefs and practices with western dualist eyes. By doing so they loose the meaning and beauty of those beliefs. This book is obviously written by someone who has tried, with great respect and humility, to translate this ancient work in a way that is true to the culture it has come from. This book gives alot of historical context as well. Which is a huge help. It is also wonderful that it is on kindle.
