By Dan Felix I had high expectations for excellence from Zeiger because of his multi-disciplinary talent and his penetrating intelligence. My expectations were quickly confirmed in this book with his discussion of happiness and money not being enough! Imagine that in a book about finance! And how critical for an honest discussion of the intersection of our financial and spiritual lives! His book's useful insights range through many other essentials and then some. I particularly value his thoughts about getting through the practical challenges of collaboration of the various professionals as well as more heady issues of the culture of youth worship and death denial. For anyone who wants to deepen their connection to their finances and financial world, this is a must read.

Smithson Do you ever go to a fine restaurant and, looking at the menu, there are so many choices that all appear great, you actually are left unable to decide which to choose? That is how I feel about trying to review Sheldon Zeiger's incredibly-insightful work on personal finance. And, there I go, already choosing one menu item over another of equal quality- because "personal finance" my be the ostensible focal point of this book, because this book appeals to such a wide range of disciplines, viewpoints and approaches-not only to personal finance but to life, itself. As a professional mediator, I was constantly stopping and making notes that concern aspects of that which is quite useful to the analysis of conflict and its resolution. further, although I am not a financial planning professional, I would highly recommend this book to all who are counseling as to financial matters of any kind, because Sheldon so incisively reveals- with far too many "Oh, wow, that is so true!" moments to count-the interwoven threads of personal finance through virtually every aspect of lifeand death. For example, I have never before so fully appreciated that finance, religion/spirituality and personal philosophy absolutely belong in one unified conversation that applies quite meaningfully to all of these focal points. for this and so many additional reasons, I feel quite strongly that everyone would benefit greatly from reading this truly-insightful work: not once but, as taught to me by Dr. Leonard Schweitzer, my English teacher from New Trier H.S. in 1973-1974, this book should be read at least twice, and literally read cover-to-cover, for one will not reap the full benefits of its thickly-rich content upon merely one perusal.
