Excellent spiritually inspired book about being drawn to the path you were intended to have. By Natalie Disque There are rags to riches stories about people from the wrong side of town having nothing and becoming a millionaire, but this is not one of them. This book provides a sweet memoir of a determined young man's journey through life and faith to end up in a spot he never set a goal for, but became more rich in life because of it. If ever there was a story where a person prayed to be led in the right direction, this is it! I felt compelled to write a review for the book because as a selfpublished author and faculty member myself, I know the trials and tribulations of getting your word out there to the public by maneuvering through the publication confusion and trying to steer today's students through the path that was set out for them. When you set a goal for yourself and strive to achieve it, allow changes along the way to happen. Everyone has had tracks they are following, has stepped off track in their efforts, have had new tracks appear before them, and at times, have backtracked to get back to focusing on the main goal. I wanted to briefly and humbly inform you that I am in possession of your autobiography, From Failure to Promise: 360. Initially, I purchased the literature to read and compete for the scholarship offered after watching you speak passionately via Ted Talk. My initial assumption was that I would consume yet again another self-help book that would enrich my mind. However Dr Moorer, little did I know that your story would renew and speak to my inner Christian. Our lives parallel in so many ways, I too was a child raised and born by a father who was considerably older than my mother. My father passed in 2015, he was 97 (biological), my mother on the other hand is 59. We grew up in poverty in Baltimore, MD, and although the vices surrounded myself and my brother always, our family had a strong anchor to Christianity. My father motivated me to excel at every echelon of my adolescent development. My dad too was a tradesmen, he was a carpenter and held office in the church. I too excelled in school and went to a high school that would prepare me for my current profession a career in military service. I have obtained the rank of Captain in the United States Army because, much like you, my parents pushed me, held me accountable, and revealed to me the blessings of living as a Christian regardless of my environment. My father the late Elder Beaufort Belin often relayed to me that, "Son, you can live in the world, but you don't have to be of the world." Laughably, I now realize that this was he and my mothers methods of helping me and my brother cope with the surroundings of our environment which was riddled with, death, despair,

hopelessness, crime, drugs and prostitution. As I look back from where God has brought me Dr. Moorer, despite my environment, and it's vices, God placed in my life a loving and molding development team, I too had the church mother, and Sunday school teacher whom of which, still motivates and prays with and for me to this day, a mother that expects me to follow God's will and encourages me to do so to this day, God too brought me through the wilderness (Baltimore City, mobilized military service) to finally arrive to a point where I am feeling his calling on my life. Presently in my life, I am pursuant of a second Masters in Marketing Research at Michigan State University because God has decided that I have served the will of the nation long enough, and now it is time to serve his, much the same as your journey. I too am on a path to obtain a PhD and teach Marketing at the collegiate-level, not to merely obtain the salary, but because God has equipped me with the ability to inspire through oration. I asked questioned God when I was initially informed that I was being medically retired from the military do to health reasons, "Lord, why place me here, and send me along this path if you did not intend for me to stay." Dr. Moorer, God enabled you to share your story in order to provide me with my answer. The inner peace of divine intent has settled over my life, God has finally revealed to me that his design for our lives is greater than our individual plan. I apologize for the lengthy message, however, my mother always tells me that son if you are on the right path, God will place individuals and events in your path to serve as signs and monuments of faith. I believe that your story has done that for me. Dr. Moorer, please understand that I do not share this post to gain any advantage in essay competition, as I still intend to apply, however, I was compelled by the spirit of God to share with you how your testemant has renewed, focused and streamlined my faith in God and in my own ability to break the mold. By Cheyann This book speaks so highly to every college students as well as normal adults just trying to make it through life. You truly miss put if you do not take the time to read and understand this book thoroughly. I was originally looking at this book simply for the scholarship connected to this book.
