Minotaur Slain by Suspected Half-Blood Annabeth Chase, Staff Reporter Half-Blood Times Late on Sunday night, July 1st, a suspected half-blood named Perseus Jackson killed the famous Minotaur with its own horn. Jackson, 12, along with his mother Sally, 34, and the satyr Grover Underwood, 27, were fleeing the family cottage in Montauk in Long Island when they encountered the beast. They decided to go to Half-Blood Hill, the summer camp where the children of the gods gather, in the Jackson car, after Underwood warned Ms. Jackson that Percy was in great danger. The danger, of course, was Minotaur, a giant, deadly half-bull/half-man hybrid. “That thing was big, hairy and scary. It was lumbering behind us, slowly but surely it would have caught us,” said a shaken Underwood. Eventually, the beast got hold of the Jacksons’ 1978 Camaro, but the occupants escaped before it exploded, leaving debris everywhere. The trio attempted to cross the line to Hill together, but only two were able to make it. Sally Jackson sacrificed her life in order to her companions. The Minotaur squeezed the life out of her and she disintegrated in a flash of light. Jackson knew that he did not have time for grief: “Anger replaced my fear. New found strength burned in my limbs. I had to act”, Said the morose Percy. Jackson was able to trick the Minotaur into charging into a tree, snapping off one of its deadly horns. He then used this same horn to stab the beast in the side after he was able to jump on top of it. The Minotaur vanished and has not been seen since.
