There are 3 versions of the Performance Grades spreadsheet. They all do exactly the same thing - you just have the option of selecting from 3 colour schemes. Click here to select and download the spreadsheet. The purpose of the spreadsheet is to a) keep a record of your games and b) to display a running performance grade after each game entered. The following points should be noted:  







Row 3 cannot be used. Its’ sole purpose is to leave a gap between the column headers and the games that you enter. Your first game should be entered in row 4 and subsequent games in subsequent rows, with no gaps in between - ie: you cannot enter a game in row 4 and then try to enter the next game in row 6 as the calculating cells will not work properly. The Colour column must be entered as either White or Black - it will not accept just W or B. The Result column must be entered as either W, D or L. It will not accept 10, ½ - ½ or 0-1. The Opening column should be entered as the 3 digit code from the Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings- the ECO code. This is in the format A00 - E99. Click on the Opening column header and you will be taken to a PDF file containing a description of all the different codes. This column is not mandatory - use it or not as you wish. The Game Grade and Performance Grade columns are both protected. These will be updated automatically based on the data you enter.
