RECREATIONAL LEASE MANAGEMENT (RLM)

Camping Program Camping has been a great tradition among hunting clubs for many years. Plum Creek has long provided camping options for many of our hunting clubs to promote the camaraderie that comes from relaxing in “Deer Camp”. Below is a detailed description of Plum Creek’s camping program. Should you have any questions regarding the camping program, please contact your Recreation Lease Manager for clarification. If you DO NOT currently enjoy camping on your lease but wish to do so, please contact your Recreation Lease Manager to begin the process of establishing a camp.

Camping Options “No Trace” Camping As the name implies, no trace camping leaves virtually no sign that the area is used for camping. Impacts on forest management will be minimal due to the low impact nature of “no trace” camping. No fees will be charged for this camping option although hunting clubs must notify their RLM contact of their intended use of this option. Details of this camping option are as follows: • • • •

All camping equipment leaves with the customer at the end of every trip. One sign-in board will be allowed for safety reasons. The board should be only large enough for a poster sized map with location pins. One wooden constructed deer skinning rack is also allowed to remain on site. Campfires are subject to provisions of lease contract.

“Designated Seasonal” Camping The second option for new campsites is the “Designated Seasonal” option. This option gives you the ability to camp without having to strike camp after each visit. Pull behind campers or recreational vehicles are required and must be removed from the property during June and July of each year. • • • •

Option allows all features available in the “No Trace” Camping option. Customers will be charged an annual fee of $50.00 per ¼ acre of utilized campsite. One roofed structure with a maximum of three walls and having less than or equal to 400 ft2 (20X20) of covered area. One portable generator cover (less than or equal to 16 ft2 of covered area) per camper may remain on site year round.

“Designated Year Round” Camping The third and final option for new campsites is the “Designated Year Round” option. This option allows you to leave camping equipment on your designated campsite year round. Though equipment is allowed onsite year round, mobile camping equipment (RVs, pull behind campers preferred) will still be required. • • • •

Option allows all camping features available in previous options. Campers, RVs or other mobile structures will be allowed at a rate of $200.00 each per year. Commercial storage sheds will be allowed at an annual rate of $200.00 each. Shipping containers and construction trailers are not allowed. If your camp includes buildings or other non-mobile structures, you must enroll in the “Designated Year Round” camping option. Except for the allowed group shelter and generator cover, each

building/structure will incur an annual fee of $200.00. Non-mobile structures will be phased out over time favoring mobile RV campers. Fixed attachments such as porches, decks, or roof canopy structures are discouraged. These types of structures will be charged a $200 annual fee and automatically enrolls a camp in the “Designated Year Round” Camping category. Fixed attachments will be subjected to annual inspections and removal may be required if these structures become dilapidated or in Plum Creek’s opinion represents a safety risk. No new fixed attachments may be added to an existing campsite.

Utility Options 1. Water and electric utilities are available on a case by case basis. Plum Creek favors the use of generators to satisfy your electricity needs. If approved by Plum Creek, all costs associated with utilities will be the responsibility of your club. 2. If clubs desire to have electricity supplied by a public utility, the club will be responsible for paying all costs to include: • • • • •

The costs to have the electrical line brought to the site, The value of timber removed from any right of way created on Plum Creek land, The cost to clear the right of way, The cost to have a Plum Creek approved electrician perform all wiring and electrical connections, All monthly electricity fees.

Water Service • •

If approved, clubs may drill wells using a Plum Creek approved contractor. Clubs will be responsible for the cost of the well installation. For any water service, clubs must also establish a county approved septic tank or be connected to county sewage.

Dog Kennel Options • • •

New kennels may be built only with prior permission from your Recreation Lease Manager. Dog kennels must be located within your designated camping area and are allowed at no additional charge. Old kennels is states of disrepair must be removed from the property as a condition of your lease.

Dogs may be kenneled at the camp only during deer season or training seasons (Florida only). Clubs may not kennel dogs on Plum Creek property year-round. Camps with School Buses, Mobile Homes, and Panel Vans Camps that include school buses, mobile homes, and panel vans must enroll in the “Designated Year Round” camping option. No additional structures of this type may be added to the property and an annual fee of $200.00 per non-mobile structure will be imposed. All structures of this type must be removed from the property by June 1, 2009. We believe the camping program gives your hunting club the flexibility to establish a camping area that will enhance the hunting experience of each of your members. Please contact your lease manager if you have any questions or need clarification regarding this program.
