Cheaply printed and bound on anti-read paper By Thomas W OSteen At first glance, I was so disappointed. Now, I'm annoyed every time I look at the book. PMI is obviously more concerned that someone will make unauthorized copies than producing a good product that someone can actually read. On the first page, there is a disclaimer that says the book is printed with "a patented anticounterfeit print technology designed to prevent unauthorized reproductions...intended to discourage anyone from attempting to illegally reproduce or counterfeit this book." The paper is gray, hard to read in anything but perfect lighting, with charts and graphics that do not stand out from the gray background. I have the previous version (5th) of the PMBOK and it is printed on good quality white paper. Although no pages have fallen out yet, the book looks like it is cheaply bound and pages will start coming out as soon as it gets some serious use. For an organization that preaches satisfying stakeholder requirements, I wonder what the calculus was to produce a product that doesn't meet or exceed the quality standards of the last version.
