With Pokémon GO all over, well… everything! I thought it was time to turn my crafty, crochet friends into a special type of Pokémon trainer – one who actually makes their own. So to start, here is the pattern for a Pokéball. I plan to post more Pokémon patterns so do check my blog & Ravelry page regularly! You can even subscribe to the blog HERE to be notified when a new post is added to the Cherry Floss Site. This pattern uses British & American terminology. American terminology can be found in [square brackets] – so it’s the best of both worlds really! This pattern is worked in a spiral, and you never join with a slip-stitch. I use a stitch marker to help with this, but if you don’t have one to hand, I sometimes use a hoop or ‘dangly’ earring – information on how to do this is detailed below. Please note that this is not Official The Pokémon Company or Nintendo merchandise.

What Materials You’ll Need: • • • • • •

A small amount of DK yarn in white A small amount of DK yarn in Red A small amount of DK yarn in Black 4.5mm Crochet Hook Stitch Marker (or earring!) Yarn Needle

What You’ll Need to Know: • Double Crochet [or Single Crochet for our American Crafters!] • Increase and decrease in double crochet [single crochet] • You’ll need to know how to change colour whilst working. A tutorial on this is available on the last pages of the Cat Cushion pattern on my Blog. Abbreviations: This pattern uses British terminology throughout, however, the American terms can be found in [square brackets] next to each

Double Crochet = dc [Single Crochet = sc] Double Crochet two together = dc2tog [Single Crochet two together = sc2tog] St(s) = Stitch(es)

Making your Pokéball: The number in (brackets) at the end of each line indicates how many stitches you should have at the end of that round. It is important to check this as it helps you identify whether you have made a mistake when increasing and decreasing. This pattern does not join with a slip stitch at the end of a round, please use a stitch marker throughout. Mark the first stitch you make in each round, this will indicate where you need to work the first stitch of the following round. Move the stitch marker as you work each round.
