Badger Forensics Team Shines At State, Brings Home 14 Medals April 26, 2017 (Lake Geneva) – Badger High School is pleased to report that its entire forensics team qualified for and achieved top-three placements at the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association’s State meet held at UW-Madison on Friday, April 21. The 14-member team took home four gold, 9 silver and one bronze medal. “We are incredibly proud of our team and their accomplishments this season,” said Badger forensics coach Mark Zastrow. Coach April Machan and I think it’s incredible that all 14 of our team members qualified for and medaled at state. The competition was intense, but their hard work and preparation certainly paid off.” Following is a list of the Badger forensics team’s state results: Grace Elmudesi (senior) - gold medal, radio Ava Mannion (junior) - gold medal, oratory Bella Peetz (sophomore) - gold medal, farrago Jessie Smith (sophomore) - gold medal in solo serious Karen Castro (junior) - silver medal, farrago Junior Team Captain Jessica Fischer (junior) - silver medal in storytelling Sophia Georges (freshman) - silver medal in special occasion Samantha Hill (freshman) - silver medal, demonstration Senior Team Captain Heidi Lininger (senior) - silver medal, oratory Mabel Nowicki (freshman) - silver medal, moments Melanie Soto (freshman) - silver medal, oratory Ellis Tonozzi (junior) - silver medal, poetry Brandon Bishop (junior) - bronze medal, extemporaneous speech Muneeza Munawar (freshman) - silver medal in storytelling
