Fetters Lane (private property), located in the Village of Pine Station, McElhattan, Wayne Twp., Clinton County. From Rt. 220 take the McElhattan exit (exit #116), continue south toward Truck-Lite. At the intersection, turn left toward Restless Oaks restaurant (Pine Mt. Road). Drive approx. 2.33 miles to Village of Pine Station. At the “T”, turn left (north) onto Campground Road (TR 423), drive over RR tracks to “T” & turn right. Continue less than 1 mile to Fetters Lane, turn left just before RR tracks & continue down Fetters Lane (single lane gravel/dirt road) for approx. 100 feet & turn left at the red metal gate. Drive down farm road to meeting location. (Orange flagging tape will be hung on Fetters Lane street sign & at the red gate. Map emailed to registered participants.) July 21, 9:15 AM-1 PM. Complementary luncheon by Curt’s Smokin’ Ribs between 12-1 PM. Motorized boats launch from the F&B Pine Station boat access, McElhattan-contact CleanScapes for details/map. River & Land Support Stewardship Volunteer Positions: Cleanup event runs from 9:30 AM-12 Noon River Crew. Wade in the river & collect tires. Tires will then be loaded into canoes/boats & rolled to the riverbank drop-off area. Ability to swim and wear appropriate foot gear (closed toed shoes, no flip-flops, etc.) is required. Land Support Team. Assist the waders/boaters on land! As the tires/boats come to the riverbank you will collect items and roll/carry them to the nearby roll-off dumpster. Sturdy shoes & a willingness to get muddy & wet are required! Photographer and/or Reporter. Photographers and Writers are always encouraged to participate. Photography experience of all levels is welcome. One copy will be retained by CCC for future educational purposes. Writers report the action & interview participants. A draft article is submitted to CCC for public release. Boating Shuttle Crew. Assist the scuba divers & waders; drive your Jon boat or paddle your canoe to transport collected tires to the take-out location. After the tires and debris are removed from the river, participants will unload your boat/canoe. Please note, boats/canoes will get muddy. Paddlers meet at Fetters Lane, motorized boaters-contact CleanScapes for launch details. Pre-registration for the cleanup is requested by July 21, 12 Noon. All pre-registered participants will be provided gloves, bags, & complementary refreshments & lunch.
