Summary of the Beacon Hill School Council Meeting on Monday 8th September 2015 The Chairman welcomed Mr Tim Teahan and Mrs Charlotte Fennelly to attend their first Council meeting and also welcomed all Council Members for the new school year started.

Principal's Report Staff Movement 

New Teachers Appointment – Mr Antony McCallum, Ms Tamar Younie and Mr Michael Hoskins have been appointed as full time class teachers. Ms Jocelyn Hoe has been appointed as part time Mandarin teacher for this school year.



Returning Teachers – Mr Stuart Lowe who is an embedded Advisor Learning Technology, is now working as ICT Teacher at BHS. Mrs Helen Pickering and Ms Laura Fisher have returned to class teachers after maternity leave.



New Role – Ms Emily Jeves has begun her role as Teacher Librarian.

Premises/Building Development Update 

The Principal thanked the ESF and PTA for funding. The New Learning Technology room was completed.

Health and Safety 

Mr James Harrison, Mr Chad Pheasant and Mrs Barbara Woo met with all the bus coordinators recently to further emphasize the school expectation of student’s behavior and bus safety issue.

PTA 

PTA was fully or partially funded for school activities such as Mathletics License, MidAutumn Festival Mini Market etc. These actions will be continued in this year.



PTA had donated around HK$300,000 to school from last year fund raising events.

ESF Report 

ESF Strategic Plan 2015-2020 will be launched later this month. Four evenings were arranged to share the plan within the ESF community.

Other Business 

Malcolm Keys (Chair) expressed his appreciation for Susan Chung contribution and support of work in the School Council.
