2016 Conference Request for Proposals Call for Conference Presentations
RIDE is seeking presentation proposals to accelerate the implementation of high quality blended and personalized learning that is accessible to all students; best and next practices in the integration of computer science in all schools; and productive next steps for us all to take in reimagining the learning experience. This will deepen thinking around personalized learning, 21st century skills, and the digital learning transition that will prepare our students for college, careers and life.
Who is eligible to submit a proposal? Educators, school leaders, policy makers, technology coordinators and coaches are all encouraged to share implementation strategies, best practices, and lessons learned at the conference. RIDE also invites corporations, educational start-up companies, foundations, and non-profit organizations providing services to the K12 education sector to join more than 1200 participants in a conference focused on developing digital learning ecosystems across Rhode Island. One 60 minute breakout sessions is included in the Level 4 sponsorship package. Complete the SPONSOR REGISTRATION prior to submitting a presentation proposal.
Presenter Proposal Deadline: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016 Please submit your proposal by the close of business on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016 . You will receive a confirmation email indicating that your proposal has been received. There is a limit to the number of submissions per institution. If more than 3 are submitted, only the first 3 submitted chronologically will be reviewed and considered. Lead Presenters will be notified of proposal decisions in June, 2016. 2016 Conference Request for Proposals Session Details
We must model personalized learning if we value and expect personalized learning to occur in our systems! Priority will be given to those presentation designs that model a personalized learning experience and include ACTIVE PARTICIPATION by attendees sharing and highlighting blended learning strategies, computer science integration, management techniques, technology tools, and apps in breakout sessions and in the SHARE-fest Playground. Learning outcomes and agendas should be clear and explicit.

Session Formats HANDS-ON INTERACTIVE SESSION - Presenters model blended and personalized learning in this session format. Conference attendees are active learners as the presenters share tips, apps, and tools. Attendees collaborate and interact with other participants as they explore the value of the various tools, app, and strategies. STUDENT DEMONSTRATION - Who better to tell the story than our students?! Students are welcome as co-presenters! In this format, students are an integral part of the of the presentation. (There are additional opportunities for student demonstrations beyond the breakout sessions and Share-fest Playground. Let us know in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SECTION if you have an amazing idea for a student demonstration.) IDEAS GALORE - Attendees will walk away from this session chock-full of new and innovative ideas! STRATEGIES & SOLUTIONS - Practical strategies and solutions to perplexing issues are laid out during the session or presentation PANEL DISCUSSION - This format features 3-4 panelists who engage in a moderated discussion. Include the names of both panelists and moderator in the list of presenters. SHARE-FEST PLAYGROUND - The playground format allows attendees to drop-in on topics of personal interest without the formal constraints of a conventional schedule, and as a result, provides an opportunity for engaging in a personalized discussion. Attendees like to know what to expect during your session. It helps to identify opportunities that match learning styles and create allows for the creation of a personalized playlist of experiences. We are encouraging participant interaction, multiple experiences and sharing a variety of points of view. There most likely will be overlap and your session(s) may have more than one format that makes sense.

2016 Conference Request for Proposals Session Description
* 7. Session Title
A catchy, clever titles draw attendees to your session. Provide a short, one-line professional title that clearly captures the main idea of your session. This will be used in all program materials to draw attendees to your session. RIDE reserves the right to modify the title if necessary.
* 8. Session Abstract
The Session Abstract should be 500 characters or fewer for use in the event app, if proposal is selected. This is a short and sweet synopsis of the session that will attract attendees. This will be used in all program materials. Please write in the third person
* 9. Session Learning Outcomes
Provide a list of 3 learning outcomes that participants will achieve and be able to apply as a result of participating in your session. Note: These outcomes will be listed with the session abstract in the event app. 500 characters or fewer.

* 10. Detailed Agenda
Please provide your detailed agenda with times, topics, and activities. The agenda should provide an outline of your session, including networking and collaborative opportunities for participants to share ideas and best practices. Your detailed agenda will assist in the selection process.
* 11. Session Resources
Please provide a list of resources that either provide background information or that will be utilized during the session. These resources may include but are not limited to websites, reports, documents, tools, and other materials that support the session's discussion among attendees. You will later be asked to upload these resources to the event app if your session is selected.
