PSI’S IT SERVICES Through the years PSI has provided a variety of IT services to a broad customer base, spanning support to federal, state, and local governments and commercial entities. Examples of some of our projects are presented below, organized by IT area.

SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT PSI teams in the Austin Systems Development Center (SDC) and the VA Central Office (VACO) analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain nationwide applications in collaboration with the Loan Guaranty (LGY) service organization for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA). PSI develops and maintains web-based applications, develops prototypes for “proof of concept” efforts and provides overall technical guidance in numerous areas for LGY. We also maintain and enhance 3-tier applications, support related Corporate Database applications, and maintain IBM mainframe legacy systems. PSI provides Database Administration (DBA) support, performs system administration tasks on servers, develops documentation in written and online form, and performs records management services using state of the art technologies.

OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE PSI performs a variety of activities in support of the FDA’s Establishment Evaluation System (EES) application, developed for the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and used in support of the drug application review process through submission and tracking of Establishment Evaluation Requests (EERs). PSI performs analysis, requirements definition, change management, system testing, documentation, upgrade and installation of modifications to the EES application.

SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT & RECORDS MANAGEMENT PSI maintained the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS). AERS is an Oracle-powered client/server and web-based system used by the pharmaceutical industry to report medically significant adverse events. It also serves as a records management system that allows the FDA Safety Evaluators to recognize trends and protect the health of the nation’s citizens.
