PSTHC CODE OF ETHICS I will check Federal, State, County and Local Laws before searching. It is my responsibility to KNOW and UNDERSTAND THE LAW. I will never knowingly remove or destroy any potential historical archeological treasures. I will not enter private property without the owner's permission. I will refill all holes and try not to leave any damage. I will not litter and will dispose of any trash found digging. I will not destroy or tamper with any structures on public or private property or what is left of Ghost Towns. I will not tamper with signs, maintenance facilities or equipment and leave all gates as found. I will make an effort to return found property to its rightful owner. I will be polite and informative to those who inquire about the hobby. I will protect my hobby, be thoughtful, considerate and courteous at all times to others and their property. We are an ambassador of a pastime/hobby that we want to protect and we will be judged by how we act and respond.

The Puget Sound Treasure Hunters Club is devoted to preserving and promoting the wonderful hobby of treasure hunting and metal detecting. PSTHC was founded in 1972 and serves the Tacoma and Olympia area. PSTHC is a non-profit organization that also serves the public through donations to the Fisher House and other charities. The Club also participates in archeological surveys.

REASONS TO JOIN PSTHC Monthly Meeting: The monthly meeting consists of club business, news, training, and voting for finds of the month. Six different categories of monthly finds are judged (US Coin, Jewelry, Foreign Coin, Token, Open, Monthly Hunt). Guests are always welcome. Club Newsletter: The club newsletter is published monthly and mailed or e-mailed to all club members. It contains a pictures of member treasure finds, minutes of the last meeting, member treasure stories, information about up-coming events and sponsors. Monthly Hunt: The club sponsors a monthly hunt the weekend following the club meeting. It is usually held at one of the local area parks. This a great time for those new to the hobby to receive metal detector training. Learn to be a safe and responsible treasure hunter.

1889 Canadian 10 Cents Found by a club member in 2008 during a club hunt. It sold for $800.00 Annual Hunt: The Lenny Phay Memorial Hunt is held annually during the summer, to honor Mr. Lenny Phay, one of the founding PSTHC members. Guests from other treasure clubs attend to participate in the many hunts that are scheduled throughout the day. A potluck/barbecue is held during the hunt. This event is open to the public. Annual Picnic: The Larry Webb annual picnic is for PSTHC members and guests and is held during the summer. A free treasure hunt is held for all to enjoy. This is a fun-filled day of detecting and camaraderie. Resources: Need tips on where to hunt in your town. Our members are from towns all over Puget Sound and know where you can and cannot hunt. Metal Detector Training: Learn to use your metal detector from our members that have years of experience. Also learn how to properly dig and retrieve your targets.
