Quorum Meeting Agenda Presiding: _____________________________ Conducting: ___________________________
Welcome - 1-2 minutes “I’d like to welcome everyone to quorum meeting today. Thank you for being here.” If there are visitors: “We would like to welcome the visitors {or new quorum member(s)} to our quorum today.” [Have them introduce themselves if you do not know them; if you do know them, acknowledge them by name].
Purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood - 2-3 minutes “The purpose of the Aaronic Priesthood we are discussing today is #__, which is _______________________________________________________. ____________________[Insert quorum member’s name], will you please share a few brief thoughts about this purpose? [Comment: Do not ask for a volunteer, just pick someone].”
Announcements and Assignments - 1-3 minutes • “Our mutual activity this week is ____________________[insert activity]. It will be held at [time] at [place].” • [Ask the scout leader (if present) if there is anything he needs to say about the activity]. • “What assignments need to be completed for this activity?” • [Ask if there are any other upcoming activities or tasks that need to be announced]. 1
Date:
• If there are visiting ward (e.g., bishopric) or stake leaders (stake young men’s presidency or stake presidency), ask them if they have any business to discuss. • Make assignments as necessary for priesthood duties for next week - passing the sacrament, bringing the bread and preparing the sacrament, and blessing the sacrament.
Missing or Less Active Quorum Members - 1 minute • Recognize who is not in the quorum meeting and where they are (less active, on vacation, ill, etc.). • If someone who is normally active is not at quorum meeting but no one knows why he is not there, make an assignment for someone to contact the young man and find out where they were.
Duty to God - 5 minutes • “Now we are going to spend a few minutes talking about our progress with Duty to God. Will __________ [insert name] please read page [13 (for Deacons); 37 (for Teachers); or 61 (for Priests)] in their Duty to God manual?” • [Only say the next sentence if a Duty to God task was chosen the previous week - it should have been most weeks]. “Which activity did you complete this past week?” [Give all quorum members time to say what they did]. • “Who has something to share from the Share section?” [Some of this sharing can be done at home or in seminary or elsewhere. This just should serve as a reminder for quorum members to actively work on their Duty to God]. • Now pick (other) Learn and Act tasks to work on this week. 2
Date:
Lesson - 20-30 minutes • “Now I’d like to turn the time over to Bro. __________ [insert name] for the lesson.” • After the lesson • “Thank you for the lesson [can share a brief testimony or closing thoughts if so inspired]. I’d like to thank everyone for being here today.” • Assign someone to say the closing prayer.
After Church Duties • “It is time to [empty the trash], [put away chairs], [check bathrooms to make sure they are reasonably clean and to see if the garbage needs to be taken out].” • Fast Offerings • Taking Sacrament to homebound members
