Pre-AP and Honors courses prepare students for AP courses. AP, Pre AP, and honors courses include content immersion, a fast pace, and performance assessed at the analytical and synthesis levels. Characteristics of these students are self-motivation, task-oriented, proficient readers, writers, and thinkers, with good time management skills. Before completing the AP/Pre-AP/Honors Course Request Form, each student and their parent are responsible for reading the AP/Pre AP/Honors Course Schedule Change Request Policy. Please read the following requirements and initial each statement. Student Parent (Please Initial) _____ _____ I understand that the difficult level is significant and I may experience a drop in my grade. _____ _____ I understand that each of my AP classes require a non-refundable $45.00 fee (or $20.00 fee for participating in the free or reduced lunch program) which I must pay or set up a payment plan no later than June 1, 2017 with Caroline Allison, book keeper at the high school. I also understand that all balances must be paid in full by the start of the 2017-2018 school year for me to remain in the AP courses. This fee will be used to pay for the courses AP exam which I am required to take. _____ _____ I understand that I am required to remain in the courses for their duration. There is a strict exiting policy that students and parents are expected to be familiar with prior to enrolling in an advanced course. _____

I also know that whatever grade I made (the first 6-weeks) will follow me to my new course if I am granted permission by the administration to drop the course. Therefore dropping these courses will not be available. I also understand that this could result in a change in graduation plan and/or summer school due to the loss of credit.
