Religious Studies What will I study? From 2016 there will be a new specification for Philosophy and Religious Ethics. It will still cover issues relating to moral decision making in the world today and also a wide range of religious philosophical thought e.g. Just War Theory, Teleological argument and discussion of various philosophers theories e.g Hume, Aquinas etc.
Entry Requirements You will need at least 5 GCSE at grade A*-C.
How will I be assessed? The exam is linear. All exams are taken at the end of the 2 years for the A-level.
What will it prepare me for? Religious Studies teaches the skills of argument and analysis. It is therefore a major access route into careers like: Law, Medicine, Business, Journalism, Dentistry, Nursing, Teaching, Lecturing, Accountancy, and so on: in fact to any career that involves argument and analysis. At degree level, Religious Studies is often taken with Philosophy, Business Studies, Accountancy and the Sciences, because it shows your ability to think, plan and evaluate, which are valuable assets for any career.
