Tips for Remote Access (via FOB) on a Macintosh Computer Assumptions made: -

you have a FOB for remote access ( call 9-310-3111 if you don’t) running Mac OS 10.4 you have your install disk for OS 10.4

Install the X11 application (insert the 10.4 install DVD and locate the icon “Optional Installs”.

Double click the icon to start the install process. When you get to the “Installation Type” window, open the “Applications” triangle. Locate “X11”, select and install the software.

When this is done, go back to the install disk and open the folder called “X code tools”. Inside the folder you will see a folder called “packages”. Open this folder and locate the package “X11SDK.pkg”. Install this package.

Now log onto the region by using the Safari web browser (Firefox doesn’t seem to work). Open Safari and enter http://my.calgaryhealthregion.ca/2 into the address bar. You must use this specific address.

Once the page opens, you will need to enter your “Key Fob ID” and the “Key Fob Password”. The “Key Fob Password” is entered as your 4 digit password, followed by the 6 digit random number on your key fob. Pay attention to the bars on the left side of your key fob screen. If there is only 1 bar present, it is probably better to wait for a new set of numbers to be generated before entering them into the password field.

Once logged into the region via the http://my.calgaryhealthregion.ca/2 portal, allow the netlet window to finish loading. Do not close the netlet window. Things will not work if you close this netlet window.

On the left side of the home page, you will see “My Applications” under the “Bookmarks” tab. Select “My Applications”. When the new window opens (“Sun Secure Global Desktop”), you will see the site DI options and SCM on the left side of the page. You can access x-rays and SCM from here.
