Following the Message:

10. (2:25) Those in the church at Thyatira not tolerating the teachings of Jezebel were told to hold fast; in other words don’t let go from your _grasp___. Excellence in Christ requires a tight___- grip_________ on truth and resistance from evil.

1. (intro) Jude 1:3,4 “I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith.

11. (2:26,27) Christ promises believers who are faithful will have authority and will join Him in His millennial kingdom/reign____.

2. (2:18) Jesus is identified as having “eyes like a flame of fire” which means that He sees all and nothing can be disguised_, covered__ or hidden_ from Him.

12. (2:28) “I will give him the morning star”; that is, I will give unto him Myself________, so that reflecting My perfect brightness, he shall shine like Me, the Morning Star, and share my kingly glory.

3. (2:18) Jesus is also identified as having “feet like burnished bronze” meaning that He will trample________ sin and severely punish and bring judgment____.

13. (2:29). False doctrine and sin must not be _allowed_____ in the church today; even under the banner of love, toleration and unity. Immorality and false doctrine will bring judgment________.

4. (2:20) The church at Thyatira was guilty of tolerating the woman Jezebel. Even if believers were not participating in her deception, they were guilty of tolerance – endorsement___ by acquiescence. 5. (2:21) Even Jezebel was given time to repent, but she didn’t want to. Literally, she did not want to come out of her __behavior______. 6. (2:20,21) No amount of loving, sacrificial works can compensate for tolerance__________ of evil. Rather than permitting such false teaching, a godly church must speak the _truth_______ in love.

Reflecting on the Text: 1. Are there personal actions and behaviors in my work that indicate that I have compromised my beliefs?

2. Are there false teachings in my church or within my circle of believing friends which I knowingly tolerate? 3. Am I willing to speak the truth in love as I recognize these situations?

7. (2:22) Since Jezebel refused to repent, her destiny is a “bed of sickness” which likely refers to _death (2nd death – hell)____. 8. (2:22) The good news is that God always gives an opportunity for ___repentence________________. 9. (2:23) This warning of tolerance is to _all ___ churches, not just to the church at Thyatira.
