EDITED BY REBECCA ANN LIND UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO

Race/Gender/Class/Media 4.0: Considering Diversity Across Audiences, Content, and Producers Thank you for your interest in contributing to the 4th edition of this book. We're moving from Pearson to Routledge, but we're looking for the same wide range of content. You can find the table of contents for the 3rd edition here. The priority deadline for proposals (http://go.uic.edu/rgcm) is June 1, 2017; decisions will be announced by July 1, 2017. Completed readings are due January 5, 2018, with editing and revision through May 2018. Additional copyediting should take place in fall, 2018. We expect to publish in early 2019. Manuscripts will examine the consequences, implications, or opportunities associated with issues of diversity (socially constructed differences such as race, ethnicity, gender, class, and so forth) in media.* There are three main sections: Text, Audience, and Production. The reader is designed primarily to introduce undergraduates to considerations of race, class, and gender in the media, although this text has been used in graduate courses and in high schools. Most accepted pieces will present original scholarship. If the piece has been published elsewhere, you must have reprint permission. *Of particular interest are Latino/a/x media; native media; studies of whiteness; studies of production and the media industry *Of less interest, because there will be much written about this by the time this book is published, is the 2016 presidential election and Trump presidency. Final manuscripts will be about 3500-4000 words, including pedagogical activities, and must be written in an accessible fashion. Contributors who meet the deadline will receive a payment of $100 upon publication. More details, and sample readings, will be made available as time goes on. You must respond to all of the questions to submit your proposal. There is no "redo" option once you have submitted, so please be sure your responses are as you wish before hitting submit. You may submit more than one proposal, although it is unlikely that anyone will have more than one piece in the book. Below are the questions asked in the proposal submission form. I recommend working on the responses in a word processor then copying them into the text boxes in the form.
