Perhaps the biggest event of the summer, the Olympic games always attract the world’s attention but this time around there has been a lot of attention for all of the wrong reasons. We would much rather focus on the spectacle of the games and supporting Team GB than focus on negatives, so here is a quick starter guide for enjoying the Olympic Games Rio 2016 from London. When does it begin? The opening ceremony begins at 23:15 (UK time) on Friday 5th August and will go on until about 03:00 When does it end? The closing ceremony begins at 23:15 on Sunday 21st August How do I watch it? Brazil is four hours behind the UK (BST-4 / GMT-3). The BBC has the rights for the games and the main broadcast channels will be BBC1 and BBC4 with replays and highlights the next morning on BBC2. Online coverage will be the most comprehensive, with 24 HD streams across the website and apps. When will the first gold medal be won? You don’t have to wait long for the first gold medal to be awarded. The Woman’s 10m Air Rifle will come to a conclusion at around 12:30 on Saturday the 6th When will the last gold medal be won?
