SEO Trends of 2017 that Local Businesses Should Know Local businesses often feel they don’t have the resources to compete with big-name brands in the search engine optimization (SEO) arena. While this may be true nationally, they must remember that all business is local when it comes to SEO. This means the right optimization tactics can pay off, but only if current trends are followed. With this in mind, here are the SEO trends of 2017 that local businesses must keep up with. 1. Increased Focus on Content Density Nearly one-third of total marketing budgets go directly towards content marketing, so it’s obvious how important this form of promotion is. Unfortunately, any Google search shows that the top results of most queries are usually just reworded copies of the same article. Google has taken note of this, and they’ll be fighting against it in 2017. Simultaneously, many companies bucked this trend by creating long and extensive content, but consumers don’t always like reading that much. In 2017, Google will be rewarding content creators who fit highly-valued info into shorter pieces – thus increasing their content density. 2. Accelerated Mobile Pages Become Necessities Online users want their experience to be as speedy as possible. This is such the case, in fact, that many will move onto another company’s website if they feel a page is taking too long to load. Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMPs) remove the likelihood of this occurring. Continued on Page 2

These pages load much quicker and with less data use than traditional mobile pages. AMP compliance will be essential since it’s a Google initiative. This means they’ll give higher marks to pages using the technology, so marketing managers need to bring their pages up to speed. 3. Even More Focus on User Experience As evidenced by Google’s AMP initiative, the search giant will be focusing heavily on user experience in http://check.repgrader.com/MTI4Mw== 2017. They found a cliff overlooking a residential district and located a spot right over a house where a backyard party was being held. One of the women decided to be the jumper, and the other stayed on the cliff. The jumper donned the harness, secured the elastic cord, and jumped off the cliff. The tender soon heard shouts of laughter from the crowd below as the cord went up and down. “Success,” she thought. But when the jumper came back to the top, she was covered with bruises and limping. “What happened to you? Was the cord too long?” “No,” her partner gasped. “The cord was fine. But I knew I was in trouble when I got to the bottom of the jump and everyone yelled, ‘Piñata!’”

When you're done with that, click the “sign up for Bing Ads” button in the upper right hand corner of the page. Step 2: Create your account You can enter any email address that is not already associated with Bing. Then, enter your information to create your Microsoft account (if you don’t already have one). Step 3: Import from Google AdWords or skip this step Importing from Google AdWords is a tool available for people who are already running Google search ads and want to run the same ads on Bing. If you are not running ads on Google, you can skip this step. Step 4: Do your keyword research Before crafting your ads, do a little research for keywords you want to display in your ads. You should go for keywords that have a high volume of traffic, along with low competition and are clicked frequently. You also want your ads to display for keywords with high purchasing intent. This means that people who are searching these terms are more likely to buy. Continue on page 4

Know What Employees Want from You

What do your employees really want? Jumping to conclusions is never safe. To be a better manager, remember these basic truths about everyone who works for you:

• “I want to feel important.” No one wants to feel like a number, interchangeable, or easy to forget. Get to know your employees as people; find out what makes each one unique and show them you’re paying attention to their individuality. • “I need encouragement.” Even the best employees continue to flourish with positive feedback. Let them know what they’re doing right and how they can keep performing at a high level. They’ll notice and keep up their efforts. • “I want to believe in you.” Employees want to know they can trust you—your knowledge, your expertise, and your word. Show your commitment to helping them succeed and grow by listening, answering questions honestly, and keeping your promises. • “I want to succeed.” Most employees want to do a good job, even if they don’t want to advance to upper management. Explain your expectations clearly and give them the training and support they need, so they know you’re invested in helping them succeed. • “I want to be motivated.” Yes, motivation springs from inside, but employees want to be told why they should complete a project or improve quality in terms that make sense to them. Emphasize the job’s value to the organization as well as the benefits the employee will enjoy—personal satisfaction as well as more tangible rewards—to unleash their enthusiasm and commitment.

Step 5: Create your campaign Once you have selected the keywords you want you ads to show for, it’s time to create your first campaign. Go to the dashboard and click on “create campaign.” Select the goal of your campaign to have a better idea of what you want to accomplish with ads, and follow the instruction to fill in the entries. Step 6: Enter your keywords and choose the match type After you create your campaign, enter the keywords (researched in step 4) and select the match type. When entering your keywords, you can decide how closely the user’s search query needs to be to match your keywords in order for your ad to appear. Here are the four options you can choose from: 1. Broad match 2. Broad match modifier 3. Phrase match 4. Exact match Step 7: Write your ad Once you are done with all the steps, it’s time for you to write your ads. Your ad should include the keywords and be enticing, so that many people click on it. You can also preview your ads while drafting them. Make sure your ad looks good in all three places, i.e. on top of the search results, beside the search results and on all mobile devices. Step 8: Connect your credit card When you've completed writing your ad, connect your credit card to make your advertisement go live. Step 9: Evaluate and optimize ads Once your ad is live and after couple of months, optimize the ads to improve the effectiveness of your Bing ads. You can take the following measures: • Add negative keywords • Create additional ads for testing purposes • Go for advanced targeting options Advertising on Bing is a very effective and efficient way to get your business in front of your prospective audience. By following the above steps, you will be able to run Bing Ads in no time!

Managing a Digital Workforce

Welcome to our first edition of The Small Business Marketing Minute. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ve probably notice a difference in format. There are so many important topics to discuss, we decide to add new components and rotate them.

Business managers in today’s workplace are coping with a double revolution in terms of a new generation with wildly different opinions and expectations and the digital revolution that is rapidly changing how people work. However, start-up managers who wish to ensure their companies become successful need a unified way of hiring the best talent and then being able to inspire and retain them, regardless of where they may be working from.

Please feel free to pass this newsletter on to friends and neighbors and share your personal journey also.

Start-up companies have an advantage due to their youth, being much more adaptable and nimble than older firms, and are perfectly positioned to get the best from digital workers.

Enjoy!

The traditional form of leadership seems to no longer be applicable in the digital economy, and employees are more interested in freedom than structure, desiring flexibility, income streams, and a degree of meaning in their work. A happy employee tends to be a more productive and loyal one. It is, therefore, a good idea to be more flexible as well as demonstrating more creativity with the structure of your organization. Eliminate silos and have your company structured in such a way as to more closely correlate with the action and movement of information displayed in your market. The result will improve your overall bottom line thanks to stronger productivity and collaboration.

Make Certain of Good Bone Health

Bone loss cannot be treated or even prevented just by having an adequate intake of calcium. Calcium is unable to get into bone from the bloodstream without a lot of assistance from the likes of vitamin D, magnesium, silicon, trace materials, vitamin K2, and phosphorous, all of which play a critical role in calcium absorption and transportation to bone. Otherwise, calcium may even end up residing in unwanted areas such as in blood vessels and joints.

Mushrooms and good old fashioned sunshine are great ways to get vitamin D. Magnesium is actually made naturally by the human body, so a magnesium spray is the best method of delivery, while vitamin K2, which has also been found to be vital to the prevention of heart disease and some cancers, can be found in high-fat dairy products that come from grass-fed cows as well as egg yolks and liver. Supplements are also available. A healthy gut is also crucial to healthy bones, so fermented foods as well as probiotics and probiotic foods are good for providing lactose as a vitamin D alternative to aid calcium absorption.
