FORREST CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 7  REGULAR BOARD MEETING  MINUTES  February 29, 2008  The Forrest City School District Board of Directors met in special  session Friday, February 29, 2008 in the board room of the Forrest City  School District administration office at 12:00 p.m. 

ROLL CALL  The following board members were present: Mr. Glenn Shepherd, Dr. Wayne  Jones, Mrs. Sandra Taylor and Mr. Joey Astin.  Ms. Ernestine Weaver,  Mr. Larry Jayroe and Mr. Marvin Metcalf were absent. 

EXECUTIVE SESSION (12:04pm)  Mr. Vent recommended the Board adjourn to executive session to discuss  personnel.  Dr. Wayne Jones declared the Board in executive session and  stated that no action would be taken during this time. 

OPEN SESSION (12:24 pm)  Dr. Wayne Jones declared the meeting back in open session and stated no  action was taken. 

PERSONNEL  Mr. Vent requested the Forrest City School District release him from  his contract for the fiscal year 2008/2009 in order for him to accept  the position of superintendent for the Barton/Lexa School District.  Mrs. Sandra Taylor moved to accept and Mr. Glenn Shepherd seconded.  The motion carried unanimously upon a roll call vote of 4­0.  Mrs. Sandra Taylor moved to request the district move ahead and start  the search immediately.  However, she felt the entire board should be  present to have input as to the criteria to be used on the job posting  and this could be done at the next board meeting on March 10.  Mr.  Glenn Shepherd moved to second the recommendation and upon a roll call  vote of 4­0; the motion carried. 

ADJOURNMENT  There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned.
