Welcome Students of Mrs. Boersch, Ms. Cole, and Mrs. Rosenberg! It's hard to believe that summer is winding down and we will be starting a new school year in just a few weeks. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer with your families and friends. It sure does go by so quick! We are thrilled to have you in our fourth grade classrooms at William Street School. You are going to love it here! There are so many great opportunities for you this coming school year. During the first few days of school we will have several fun games and activities so that we can all get to know one another. Each class will also learn specific procedures for the classroom in order for you to be successful and for day to day operations to run smoothly. This year Ms. Cole and Mrs. Rosenberg have an exciting opportunity to work with Mrs. Boersch. Together we will provide so many fascinating learning opportunities. In science, you will be learning about energy, magnets, mystery matter and properties, plant and animal life cycles and much more with Ms. Cole. Mrs. Rosenberg will start the year with basic geography skills then move right into learning all about New York State. In math, we will cover units in geometry, measurement, problem solving, multiplication and division, and fractions. Finally, we will be developing our reading skills through guided reading groups, literature circles, read alouds, and center rotations. Our students will also create an interactive writer’s notebook to sharpen grammar and grade level writing skills. A copy of our supply list can be found on the WSS website under your placement teacher's name. You may drop off your supplies on the PTO drop off day or you may bring your school supplies with you on the first day of school. We will assign your locker assignment during the first few days of school. If you haven't started practicing your locker combination…. get started! We are looking forward to an incredible school year! Mrs. Boersch, Ms. Cole and Mrs. Rosenberg
