Introduction: JLT pump P/N 50278 comes with built in diode and elbows. It also has two connection wires with Panduit terminals. Female Panduit terminal is 5" in length and male Panduit terminal is 10" long. The following tools will be needed for the replacement of your pump assembly • • • • •
Screw Driver, Philips #2 Side Cutters or Pincers Pliers End Cutters Rubber mallet

Removal of old pump (Gotec pump that uses the external diode assy)
1) Ensure machine's power plug is disconnected from the wall outlet. Warning: Failure to disconnect power could result in an electrical shock hazard 2) Remove the white recovery bucket , 3) Remove the filter basket by removing the two screws holding it in place. Note.~ The WT-C2 machines will have two suction hoses. 4) Pull several inches of suction line up into the area behind the quick coupler to reduce the tension in the suction hose. Note: This provides added slack to the bottom pan so it can easily be lowered. 5) Place the machine on its side. 6) With a pair of side cutter or pincers, pry the hub cab off one of the wheels. Remove the Wheel 7) Lay the machine on its back (handle side down).

8) Remove all six (or eight) screws holding the bottom pan in place. Note: Some machines incorporate flat washers with the screws. Remove washers as well and keep the washers with their screws, if that is the case. 9) Re-insert one screw to hold the Nozzle in place while the bottom pan is loose. (Where applicable) 10) Stand the machine up and remove the three (or five) vent panel screws. Caution: Plastic vent panels will crack if too much stress is put on them. 11) Lay the machine on its back, supporting it at the main support with a 2" x 4" block or other item approximately the same size. 12) Remove the remaining wheel and axle assembly. 13) Lower the bottom pan 14) Note the flow direction ofthe pump being replaced. 15) Cut clamps off of the pump hoses by using Side Cutters or Pinchers cutting through and twisting the ear off. 16) Remove the hoses from the pump elbows. 17) Disconnect the pump wires and the diode assembly ( 6" red wire) from the power leads. Note: Cable tie (not provided with kit) may need to be cut from the wire bundle. 18) Remove the pump with the elbows still attached from the rubber mounts.
Installation of the new pump on the bottom pan for MP 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6)
Place new pump assembly pointed in the proper flow direction in the rubber mounts. Arrow (flow direction) is located on the label, which is on the metal frame of the pump. Slide clamps over both suction and pressure side of hoses and install hoses over elbow hose barbs as far as th~y will go. INSTALLATION Position each clamp so that it is 1/8" from the end of the hoses, and tighten clamps using side cutters or pincers, as shown. Connect both pump wires (DO NOT INSTALL DIODE) to the pump power wires. Install the included fuse, p/n 51135, where the diode was on previous configuration. Ensure that the wiring is positioned neatly away from the brush motor cam and brush holder assembly
Installation of the new pump on the bottom pan for WT Place new first pump (front) assembly pointed in the proper flow direction in the rubber mounts. Arrow (flow direction) is located on the label, which is on the metal frame of the pump. 2) Slide clamps over both suction and pressure side of hoses and install hoses over elbow hose barbs as far as they will go. 3) Position each clamp so that it is 1/8" from the end of the hoses, and tighten clamps using side cutters or pincers, as shown. 4) Place new second pump (rear), assembly pointed in the proper flow direction in the rubber mounts. Tighten clamps as with the first pump. Note: The second pump flow direction is the opposite of the first pump. 5) Connect both pump wires (DO NOT INSTALL DIODES) to the pump power wires. 6) Install the included fuses, p/n 51135, where the diodes were on previous configuration. 7) Ensure that the wiring is positioned neatly away from the brush motor cam and brush holder assembly. 1)
Installation of the bottom pan to the lower tank 1) Remove the screw from the nozzle and hold the nozzle in place. (Where applicable) 2) Raise the bottom pan and install two screws into the front lip of the hottom pan and through the nozzle. 3) Slide the axle assembly through the holes in the lower tank. 4) Turn the unit on its side and install the wheel over the axle. 5) Using a rubber mallet firmly strike the new hubcap onto the end of the axle. 6) Install the remaining four (or six) screws into the bottom pan securing it to the lower tank. Tighten the screws evenly. Caution: Do not over tighten. Over tightening may result in the bottom pan cracking · 7) Place the machine upright. 8) Reinstall three (or five) screws securing the top of the vent panel. 9) Push the slack of the solution line back into the lower tank.

Test the machine for proper performance 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6)
Ensure the power switch is in the off position. Plug the machine into a live outlet. Ensure the machine circuit breaker is depressed or set to the ON position. If you have a two switch configured machine ensure that the switch is in the carpet position., Turn the machine ON (carpet position for one-switch configured machines). Press the red trigger switch and ensure that the pump operates. Note: If the machine is without solution the pump will chatter. Turn the machine ON to the upholstery position to ensure that the pump operates in that setting as well.
