Please share your overall opinion of this session. As always, the session really made me think of how I could make use of some of the techniques covered in the workshop. I am pleased to say that since the session was in the AM and I teach in the evening, I had enough time to modify my lecture and class activity to incorporate some of the techniques we covered in the session. At the end of class, I asked students to offer verbal feedback as to how they enjoyed the class and all of them (23 students) stated they enjoyed the class better than other weeks. Enjoyable. I learned a lot, and I appreciated that there was a diversity of faculty areas included in the discussion. Great presentation of ideas. Love the new polling feature. I almost feel guilty that someone else is doing the reading for these computerside chats. But it's such a good format. I like that the

presenter does most of the talking to keep things from getting derailed, and I like that we get to participate by chat. I found the session too crowded to be effective. I would have liked to hear more from colleagues about their teaching strategies. I already use most of the techniques that were covered, so I didn't benefit from new material. I like the computer side chats. The convenience of attending from my office, or while I'm on the road is a plus. I really enjoy these sessions on active learning and it had provided me with new tools and ideas to implement active learning in classes I teach. I was unable to stay for all of it so I only heard/saw a portion of this presentation. I felt like the feedback from the other faculty members through chat was very helpful. It is always an eye opening experience to get a view into how other professors in different disciplines are conducting student -centered learning activities It provoked me to reflected upon how I actually present the concept of active learning to students. The session was great! The session was helpful, well-organized, and well paced. Letting the "chatters" choose topics to focus on is a good way to cover the material effectively and engage the participants. The polling software is a good idea. This is a great way to share however, I don't see it for all disciplines great (2 Counts) 4.5)

What I liked best about this session was: Again, the window into the world of other professors world Completing it online! It was convenient to attend from my office. Hearing how other teachers might use the strategies in the classroom. Even though we are in different disciplines, their thoughts give me ideas about how I could use these ideas. How we are asked to think of how we could incorporate techiniques into our classroom and hear from others.

I like that the methods discussed are from a book that can be purchased. This lets me relax during the presentation knowing that I can always buy the book to review the material later. I also like hearing how other faculty are applying some of these teaching strategies in their fields. I like the way participants chime in with their comments. Learning different methods/tools for active learning. Also hearing from other faculty members of their experience with active learning. Missi Patterson is so effective at sharing her enthusiasm and positivity, it's really appreciated Missi's enthusiasm rubs off on everyone! Polls were helpful, but I wish we had a reference website/Bb group to see quick explanations of other "tips" not covered during the session. Really great shares ("chefs") from participants this round! The feedback/questions from other faculty members. This is so convenient -- and such a great way to absorb information that, frankly, I might not take the time to seek out myself. The best thing about these sessions is that the presenter models the types of tools and techniques being discussed in the presentation itself. So smart and useful. I also love that these are offered twice, so that there are morning and afternoon options. That's so important with all of our crazy schedules. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this extra effort. colaboration the sharing from other faculty 4.6)

Can't think of anything at this time. Have participants answer verbally rather than via chat. It seemed like we spent a great deal of time hearing the presenter read the comments from the chat (which we could already see). I liked having so many other faculty chiming in, but at some point you might want to limit enrollment so the chat feature doesn't scroll so fast that we can't read it. I would not change a single thing! None at this time...keep up the great work. I'll be back...see you computerside! None-and I LOVE the new survey buttons None. Nothing. Worked well. trying to incorporate more disciplines (ie, Math)
