Sampoorna Yajurveda Ghana Parayanam (27th June 2010 to 25th July 2010) वेदाराण यावि त पठतान जातभः। तावि त हर नामान कततान न संशयः।। Chanting of Veda Mantras is said to be highly auspicious, thru the propitiation of the Almighty. Benevloence of Several Deities, prayed by the Mantras will result in the well being of the Chanter as well as the listener. In a way, every syllable uttered during the Parayanam is equivalent to the Naama of the Lord being recited. Thus, Veda Parayanam is one of the most important media to attain the Benediction of God. Veda has several texts and branches. Among them, Yajurveda, especially the Taittireeya Shaakha is very popular. In this branch of Veda, highest level of Erudition is said to be Ghana Paatham, last and foremost among the 8 variations of Vedic Chanting. जटा माला शखा रे खा %वजो द'डो रथो घनः। अ,ौ .वकृतयः 0ो1ाः 2मपूवा मनी.षभः।। These Types of Chanting methods are very essential for the memorisation, excellence and erudition of Veda. Hence, the Parayanam of these Paathas is also considered to be very sacred. पठतां श'ृ वतां चा.प पूणायु 8सवस9पदः। पाठकाना:च पूजाया मै<य मतुलं भवेत ्।। Sage Koudinya, in his treatis (Siksha) has enlisted the benefits of Ghana Parayanam. The power of Mantra Recital is such that, it will help the person reciting and listening, to obtain the gattain benefits ranging from Wealth, Health and Welfare. Shabda Brahma Upasana will also cause the communion with Brahma. It is a matter of fact, that the highest level of erudition and concentration apart from immense Memory Power is required for a Chanter to recite the Text, as no printed text is available for the Ghana Paatha. Thus the recitation of Entire Ghana Paatha would also be a great scholarly accomplishment apart from being highly beneficial. Program: More than Eight Scholars will chant the Entire Ghana Paatha for all the Mantras (Sentences and Words) of Yajurveda Samhita from Jyeshtha Poornima, 27th June 2010 to Vyasa Poornima (Guru Poornima) 25th July 2010; followed by Brahmana Bhaga Parayanam on 26th July 2010, for more than 9 hours a day. Listening to the Recitation of Mantras is not only a bliss to the ears; but also as an excellent, divine and pious experience. Therefore, devotees are urged to participate, listen and support the historic event, conducted with the blessings of Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebrations at Avadhoota Datta Peetham.
