CAL GRANT “OPT-OUT” FORM  

 

For Seniors ONLY  

   

With the implementation of Assembly Bill 2160, California public high schools are required to submit a Cal Grant high school Grade Point Average (GPA) for all graduating seniors, unless the student or parent has opted-out of the submission process.

  Cal Grant gives funds to every eligible senior student who meets the requirement. A Cal Grant pays for tuition, room and board, or books and other supplies for California colleges. Cal Grant applicants must also file the FAFSA or the California Dream Act application between October 1, 2017 and March 1, 2018.

  If you DO NOT wish to have your student’s information submitted electronically, you must complete the opt-out information below and return to:

This form must be returned no later than November 17, 2017. After that date, the information for all Seniors, excluding those who opt-out, will be submitted electronically to the California Student Aid Commission for Cal Grant consideration. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a parent/guardian, I am exercising the right to “opt-out” and request that you do NOT electronically submit my student’s information to the California Student Aid Commission for Cal Grant consideration. I realize that by opting-out, my student WILL NOT be considered for a Cal Grant award.
