The first suburb north of Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Village of Shorewood attracts residents who support a long tradition of excellence in education. Shorewood High School is a National Blue Ribbon School that is focused on student success. Currently 70% of the faculty holds a Master’s Degree or higher. With the community expectation of higher education firmly entrenched, the curriculum emphasizes those skills necessary for our students to excel at the college and university level. In addition to providing outstanding scholastics, this diverse high school also fosters achievement in all areas of development through its wide variety of extracurricular activities including sports, art, music and theater program.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION

To graduate from Shorewood High School, students are required to successfully complete: four years of English; three years of mathematics, science, and social studies; two years of integrated wellness, and one year of fine and/or applied arts. Because of our vision to prepare all students for post secondary educational opportunities, many students elect to supplement their high school curriculum with college coursework and far exceed graduation requirements. Currently, nearly half of the senior class completes Advanced Placement examinations. Due to the overall high quality and academic achievement of each graduating class, SHS does not rank its students.
