2018-19 School of Choice and Secondary Option Application

Parents of students entering grades 6-12 can apply to schools other than their home attendance school through School of Choice or Secondary Option. If your child receives special education services, the exact program and school placement will be determined pending the Committee on Special Education process.

School of Choice, Secondary Option Application Enrollment is based on a tiered priority system as follows: Tier 1– Neighborhood attendance zone; Tier 2 – Sibling priority; and, Tier 3 – Weighted lottery. Please complete this application only if you are interested in applying for School of Choice or Secondary Option. Please return this form by December 8, 2017.

PLEASE NOTE: • Siblings are not automatically admitted through School of Choice or Secondary Option. Applications still must be completed and they are considered on a space available basis. • No acceptances from existing waiting lists after June 30, 2018. • If you enroll in another school or school district and later wish to return to your Secondary Option school, you will need to reapply. NOTICE TO STUDENT ATHLETES: Participation in interscholastic sports is subject to the rules of New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA), the Athletic Council of Section V of the NYSPHSAA and the Monroe County Athletic Association. When a student enrolls in ninth grade that is the district/school of their residence. Any subsequent transfer would be subject to the transfer rule, which includes sitting a year without a corresponding change in residence. (In other words, if you change schools without moving, you will not be able to compete in interscholastic sports for one year.)
