Students completing their senior project (senior paper) in conjunction with Geog 3900 – Urban Climatology Expectations: 1) Your senior paper will be approximately 40% longer than the regular 3900 literature review/synthesis paper, putting it in the range of 2500-3500 words of text, plus additional pages for the title and references pages and for any figures or tables you include in your paper. 2) Your senior paper must go beyond the minimum requirements for the regular class paper. Typically this is accomplished either by going into greater depth in the three topic sections required for the class paper, or by expanding the class paper to include a fourth topic section. I am happy to work with you to determine what might be the best way for you to meet the senior paper requirement, based on your interests and goals but subject to the constraint that your paper must also meet the minimum requirements for the regular literature review/synthesis paper itself. Please meet with me before 12 February 2016 to discuss the senior paper option and to complete the required student-faculty contract. 3) You must turn in a complete first draft of your senior paper (which ultimately will double as your course paper) no later than 5pm on Wednesday, 27 April 2016 – this is 10 days before the last day of classes. The reason for the early deadline is to give me a chance to comment on your draft and return it to you in time for you to address any recommended revisions. 4) The final version of your senior paper is due no later than 5pm on Friday, 13 May 2016 (the day of our final exam), and not on May 6 (when non-senior project final papers are due).
