Choir Practice Begins Again Choir rehearsal began Wednesday, September 7th for both the children's choir and the adult choir. Children's choir goes from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Adult choir goes from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Children's choir is for those from grade 3 until grade 8. The adult choir is for everyone else. The children's choir sings once a month at the 9:00 am Mass and the adult choir sings three times a month for the 9 am Mass. For Christmas the children's choir sings at the 4 pm Mass and the Adult choir sings at the 6 pm Mass. the Adult choir is responsible for the music for Holy week and the Easter Vigil. the children's choir does the 9:00 am Mass on Easter Sunday. We are in need of members for both groups. If you enjoy singing from your pew, you will enjoy singing with the choir even more. If you have the desire to praise God in song please come and join us. According to Saint Augustine, when you sing you pray twice! Help us to make the Mass at Saint Athanasius a beautiful expression of the worship we owe God for the blessings we receive.
March for Life in Massachusetts On Sunday, Oct. 9, join hundreds of pro-lifers on Boston Common in a March for Life that bears witness to the value of all human life and raises money for agencies providing pro -life services throughout the Commonwealth. We’ll begin at 1pm with Cardinal Seán O’Malley and other pro-life speakers, followed by a joyful march around the perimeter of the Public Garden and Boston Common. In this most unusual presidential election year, a united prolife witness is more important than ever. Come and speak for the thousands who have no one but you to speak for them. For more information and sponsorship sheets, visit MassProLife.com/2016March4Life.

Become a Hospice Volunteer “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” -Mahatma Gandhi All Care Hospice is currently seeking caring, compassionate people to offer comfort and support to our patients and families. As part of the care team, volunteers serve a vital role in affecting the quality of our patients’ lives. Each volunteer opportunity is unique and varies depending on the needs of the patient and family as well as the volunteer’s availability and interests. Patient care may include providing companionship through conversation, reading aloud, reminiscing, or even just holding their hand. Other duties help alleviate stress for the caregiver such as running errands like grocery shopping and trips to the pharmacy, light housekeeping or meal preparation. Administrative tasks involve assembling admission packets, assisting with mailings, photocopying, and special event preparation. All Care Hospice serves the North Shore, Merrimack Valley and Greater Boston. For more information or to enroll in a training, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Maureen Burge at 781-244-1129
