Do you think he is being respectful toward God? What do you think of his attitude? Read Psalm 42 and note the struggle and attitude of the psalmist. What was his conclusion about his situation?

With regard to dealing with doubts, is there a pattern you see with these song writers?

GETTING STARTED: 1. In your opinion, what is the difference between being spiritual and religious? Do you feel that you are on a spiritual journey of some kind? 2. Talk about a time when you admitted you were wrong about something. How difficult was it for you to change your mind? What happened to cause that change?

4. As we answer the question “What’s God Got to Do With It?”, you may feel the urge to seek God more deeply than before. What do the following passages teach you about seeking him? Jeremiah 29:13 — Acts 17:26-28 —

2. Read the following statements about doubting God and comment on whether you think they are true or not, and why. 

Doubt is more like an earthquake than a hurricane. It often comes unexpectedly.



Hard hearts not only create hearts of doubt, they can also lead to hearts of unbelief.



Every day we fail to seek God is a day we choose to open ourselves up to doubt.

3. In the book of Psalms, we find the honest struggles of Kings and other leaders who found roadblocks in life. Roadblocks of injustice, persecution, facing death or sorrow. They worked through some of their issues as they wrote songs. Read Psalm 74 and note the attitude of the psalmist.
