Severe Weather Emergency Action Plan UGA Club Sports 2012-2013

Severe Thunderstorm Warning Club Sports Complex: Clear members from the facility or clear patrons to the Club Building and wait for the storm to pass. Off-Campus Clubs: End activities and seek shelter indoors. Provide a list of possible shelter areas.

Tornado Warning Ramsey: Follow instructions of Rec sports staff. Move to spectator hallway or locker rooms. Club Sports Complex: Move to safety immediately. Safe areas include basement, restrooms, and storage room. DO NOT seek shelter in automobiles. Off Campus Clubs: Move to safety immediately. Provide a list of safe areas at any site practices or competitions could be held.

Lightning The following procedures should be followed anytime lightning is detected. Detection includes hearing thunder, seeing lighting, or indication by a handheld detector that lightning is within 8 miles. Club Sports Complex: Evacuate the fields and direct everyone to safe areas and cars. Off-Campus Activities: End activities and direct everyone to shelter areas or cars. Provide a list of safe areas at any sites a practice or a competition could be held.
