Going Green! There has been a relatively recent trend for companies, governments and individuals to conserve resources wherever possible. The term Going Green is in reference to attempts to reduce our carbon footprint on our environment. That all sounds good, but what does it really mean? Simply put, use less natural resources and recycle whenever possible in order to reduce the strain on our environment. Here are some tips to help you go Green, help our environment and usually save some $$.

Run your dishwasher only when full Recycle whenever possible. Plastic materials have symbols to identify their recycling use. Sort them accordingly before placing in recycling containers. Newspapers and corrugated boxes are also good sources of recycling. Utilize electronic correspondence whenever possible. Help reduce the huge amounts of paper used every year by choosing to receive your utility, credit card and bank statements via email. Rather than receiving an envelope in the mail with your bills, they are sent directly to your email, where you may save it to your computer for future reference. (You could also print a hard copy, but that sort of defeats the purpose! Though you would still be saving the use of an envelope). While your saving two or three sheets of paper and envelopes every month doesn’t sound like much, remember that if even 1% of the 37,000,000 California residents used ebilling services, that would amount to 370,000 sheets of paper and 370,000 envelopes saved every month! By the way, Orion offers E-Billing services as well. Contact Robert, your Association Manager, for an enrollment form.
