SNELL & WILMER ATTORNEY JONATHAN KOTTER WINS DESERET NEWS MARATHON SALT LAKE CITY (July 25, 2017) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Salt Lake City attorney Jonathan Kotter has won the Deseret News Marathon men’s division on Monday finishing with a time of 2:22:48 making it Kotter’s third-straight victory. Kotter, who previously ran for Brigham Young University’s Varsity Track and Cross Country teams, finished first last year in the men’s division at a time of th 2:25:01. Additionally, Kotter finished 38 in the men’s division at the 2017 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:26:58. At Brigham Young University, Kotter was the third fastest 10K runner in BYU history. In 2010, he was also the runner-up in the Mountain West Conference Track and Field Championships 10K. The Deseret News Marathon, first run in 1970, is the oldest road race in Utah and the fourth oldest marathon west of the Continental Divide. The marathon follows the path the Utah pioneers traveled when they first entered the valley.
