SNELL & WILMER NEVADA PARTNER JOHN DELIKANAKIS APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE LAS VEGAS GLOBAL ECONOMIC ALLIANCE LAS VEGAS (January 10, 2017) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that John Delikanakis, a partner in the firm’s Las Vegas office, was elected chairman of the board of directors for the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), southern Nevada’s economic development authority charged with expanding and diversifying the regional economy. Delikanakis has served on the LVGEA’s board of directors for the last four years, including a stint as the organization’s vice chairman in 2016. He began serving his one-year term as chairman in January 2017. The LVGEA is a 501(c)6 membership organization dedicated to growing the economy in Southern Nevada through connectivity, community development, and strong business recruitment, retention and outreach. The LVGEA’s board is comprised of 46 members, consisting of southern Nevada’s top public, private, business and community leaders. “It is an honor and a privilege to be nominated by my colleagues to serve as chairman and work alongside the many members of the board helping to foster a southern Nevada economy prepared to compete in today’s connected world,” said Delikanakis. “It is critical that we continue to move our region forward together in order to build on existing industry, attract new investment and create new opportunities for business.”

In addition to his work with the LVGEA, Delikanakis is also a member of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce’s board of trustees and currently serves on the advisory boards of the Salvation Army and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada. From 2003 to 2006, Delikanakis served on the Board of Governors of the Clark County Bar Association. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was recently named to Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite as one of the top 100 Southern Nevada attorneys. At Snell & Wilmer, Delikanakis practices in the commercial litigation group. His practice is concentrated on real estate disputes, business dissolutions, contracts for the sale of goods and commercial guaranty matters in the district and appellate courts. A former associate general counsel for a Fortune 500 company, his experience ranges from counseling senior management on day-to-day operational issues to litigating both simple and complex cases at the district court and appellate levels.
