SNELL & WILMER’S LAS VEGAS OFFICE SPONSORS EIGHTH ANNUAL PAINT THE TOWN™ FINE ART AUCTION BENEFITTING AID FOR AIDS OF NEVADA LAS VEGAS (December 15, 2016) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that the Eighth Annual Paint the Town™ fine art auction and fundraising event in Las Vegas raised over $22,000 benefitting Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), its client service programs and participating artists. The event was held on November 11 at the Neon Museum office location on Las Vegas Boulevard. Paint the Town™ was created in 2009 in an effort to support local charities in Southern Nevada. The 2016 event featured works of art from 25 local and international artists. Paint the Town™ was hosted by Zappos and curated by Dray, a Las Vegas artist and gallery owner. Guests had the opportunity to participate in a Step and Repeat photo session and enjoyed specialty cocktails and light bites provided by sponsors BackBar USA and Chronic Tacos. “We were thrilled to work with Zappos this year and transition the event to a downtown location,” said Snell & Wilmer partner Michael Stein. “The new venue set the tone for the night and offered our guests a unique ambiance with a warehouse feel yet upscale vibe. We’d like to thank AFAN, the event sponsors, the artists for their creativity and generosity and the guests who purchased the fine art in support of AFAN.” Paint the Town™ was led by Stein and Snell & Wilmer attorneys Steve Yoken, Karl Riley and Aleem Dhalla. Snell & Wilmer Administrative Partner Mandy Shavinsky provided remarks at the event. Snell & Wilmer has been a long-time supporter of AFAN and its many community events and outreach programs. In addition to sponsoring Paint the Town™, the firm has also sponsored AFAN’s Annual AIDS Walk and Black & White Party, which is one of their largest fundraising events. AFAN provides support and advocacy for adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Nevada. AFAN works to reduce HIV infection through prevention education to eliminate fear, prejudice and the stigma associated with the disease.
